Dear Colleagues and Partners,
The organizers of the 30th CIMAC World Congress on Combustion Engines sincerely invite you to submit your proposals in the fields of marine, power generation and locomotive engine research & development covering state of-the-art technologies as well as the application of such engines and systems. The topic streams for the event are detailed in the 'Call for Papers' below.
The Congress takes us this time to Busan, South Korea, from June 12-16, 2023. South Korea is the leading ship manufacturer worldwide, with its shipbuilding industry maintaining the top position in the global market for a third consecutive year.
As our industry is facing enormous challenges, a holistic technical exchange on the state of affairs is imperative. Not to mention the end-user’s perspective to complete the loop of providing feedback to technology solutions from the field for lessons to be learned and ideas for future developments.
We are looking forward to receiving your contribution and seeing you at the CIMAC Congress 2023 in Busan where the Congress will provide a perfect opportunity to meet manufacturers, colleagues, and customers from the entire industry around the world.
Vice-President Technical Program
Vice-President Technical Program
We are offering a couple of new formats at the 2023 event. To help us tailor them to your needs, please provide your feedback in the feedback forms.
At the 'Pitch Stage', companies (and universities) are offered short sessions to advertise products or services (or research findings) without the demands of a peer-review. We will have 5-6 ‘Pitch Stage’ presentations in 30-minute sessions, held in separate rooms without parallel events. Companies will be charged a fee. Please give us your feedback.
‘Meet the Speakers’ offers the opportunity to all presenters to meet their audience and other delegates at pre-booked tables in designated areas. Companies and/or speakers can book these tables in advance, a fee will be charged.
Ship owners, operators and other end-users are faced with countless very specific and yet often similar challenges. To support dialogue with the different stakeholders at the CIMAC Congress, we are planning special segments for the ship owners, ship operators, power plant operators and other end-users.
To support us in organizing this, we invite ship owners, operators, and other end-users to provide us with your feedback on your most important topics and current challenges.
Drawing your attention to the Congress 2023 Awards for three outstanding papers presented (Best Paper, President's Award, and Best Poster). Exciting prizes to be won, so here is encouraging all potential authors to put your best foot forward and compete amongst the best from the industry.
Winners at CIMAC Congress 2019, Vancouver:

How it works - Submission of Abstracts
We welcome abstract proposals to the proposed topics until Tuesday, August 17, 2021 (extended). The abstracts (150 to 500 words) shall outline the major content of the final paper and incorporate new research and findings not previously published. The Congress Technical Program Committee will review all abstracts to assess their suitability for acceptance to the Congress 2022 Technical Program and a presentation at the event.
The acceptance notification will be sent to the authors by October 27, 2021, at the latest. As at previous CIMAC Congresses, special poster sessions will be offered. In case authors are explicitly interested in presenting a poster, this can be indicated during the submission of your abstract proposal.
Upon acceptance to the Congress Technical Program, the instructions for writing a Paper will be sent to all accepted authors. These instructions describe in detail the procedure of writing your paper and its layout with a template, submission of your paper in the Electronic Paper System (EPS), communication with the reviewers, the review process as well as rules regarding publication.
After receiving your acceptance, full-length papers for presentations and posters for the Congress 2022 Technical Program shall be submitted via the ‘Electronic Paper System’ by February 4, 2022.
